Requirement
"Investors Bank & Trust needed to take remote mainframe data and local network data, break reports out of batch data, decide if the file was for print, Intranet or both, and transport it to the right place.
Solution
Mainframe reports come in via ASE's JES Queue Extraction and are named based on banner page content. The reports are then distributed to ASE DataPrep. At this time ASE DataPrep will, based on defined rules, either distribute the reports to a Xerox high-speed printer, or the reports are broken up into individual reports, named, and distributed to directories for archiving in FileNet.
Reports are sent via network directories and are distributed to ASE DataPrep for distribution to print or for archiving in FileNet.
Fund Managers create monthly report packets in different Windows applications. These PCL report packets are sent to ASE DataPrep where they are grouped and then sent to a PCL to Metacode module for conversion into Metacode. The packets are then distributed to print on a Xerox high-speed printer and/or transformed using a Metacode to PDF module into Adobe PDF format for archiving in FileNet.
Monthly Statements come into ASE DataPrep via network directories, are converted to PDF using a Metacode to PDF module and then indexed for easy searching. These files are sent, via network directories, to DataPrep. At this point ASE's DataPrep renames the statement file, creates files on the fly using pre-defined parameters. Parameters include which files are to be burned with the statement and which label is going to be printed on the CD. The CD is burned, the label is printed, and an email is sent notifying the user that the CD is ready.
